This is the flagship store for Dallas, and it is definitely one to see! According to the staff, it's the largest in Texas, over 3400 square feet. That size has come in handy already, though, as it has become a very popular hang-out to socialize and work. Most mornings when I drove by for my coffee before work, there's at least half a dozen laptops out. One of the first things you might notice as you order your coffee is the custom-made tile covering the wall behind the bar and counter. Then there's the inviting furnishings, from the large four-person ottomans to the sofas and couches, most or all designed especially for this store (and maybe other flagship stores too). The chairs and tables are different, as is the condiment bar (stone), and even the faucet handles in the bathroom. And even though it doesn't get very cold in Texas, a fireplace adds to the sense of comfort. One really cool touch is a pair of think curtains enclosing a sofa and giving a sense of privacy.

This relocation benefits from some repurposed wood that is left mostly infinished, adding a bit of a rustic feel to the space.

This relocation is unusual because it did not move into a drive-thru space. Additionally, unlike many Starbucks in city cores that have been REMOVING seating, this one is actually more spacious and accommodating to customers.

This is one of the niftier stores in Dallas, because of the unusual rounded facade and also the patio in back with a fountain. Back in 2003 I was told that Bill Cosby came in one day, apparently a fan of Starbucks, and signed on of their aprons. Cool!

Angles is the operative word when describing this location. Rather than the standard four walls (with or without picture windows) that seem to be the norm, the walls of this store angle to and fro. And in back, the almost-obligatory corporate standard mural wraps around a curved wall for a change.

Licenced Stores
My Starbucking rule regarding store ownership are complicated and will be explained fully in my as-yet-unpublished book, but here are the basics. If Starbucks has a proper company in a country, such as Starbucks United States or Starbucks United Kingdom, then I only count stores operated, in whole or in part (sometimes there are partnerships) by Starbucks. In these countries, stores operated under license by other companies do not count. In most countries, however, Starbucks operates stores in a joint venture with another company (such as Tata in India) or licenses the brand to a primary (exclusive or semi-exclusive) partner, such as Alsea in Latin America and western Europe or Al-Shaya in the Middle East). In such cases I visit stores operated by those primary licensees, but not stores licensed to secondary licensees such as SSP or HMSHost. Additionally, in the U.K. and France, Starbucks franchises to a small set of companies, and I do not count those stores. Finally, note that some stores listed below might have closed down.
